“Mrs. Ann…When Eric began Music Therapy in September, he was much more closed off from his surroundings and not very aware of his environment. Since that time, we have seen him blossom into a boy that looks when someone enters the room, seeks out a playmate for games he enjoys, and gazes out the window of a moving car at the world around him.  He is more involved in his own daily activities and attends better to what is going on in front of him.  He not only notices, but also reacts to others in his vicinity and is far more interactive with his family and friends.  He has also become more adventurous and inquisitive about the world than he was before…..His receptive language skills have steadily increased and he seems to be more in tune with what others are doing and want him to do. I am sure this development has stretched his language abilities in general and will lead to better expressive language in the future.  Thank you very much for all of your hard work, dedication, and patience.  You have really made a difference in Eric’s life, and in ours. We would recommend you and your Music Therapy program to others wanting to help motivate their own child and develop their child’s interest in the world beyond their own narrow interests.  We firmly believe that Eric is more engaged in his life as an effect of his participation in Music Therapy.”

“I am writing this letter in reference to Ms. Antoinette Morrison, Music Therapist.  As you may be aware, Ms. Morrison has been working with our son, for over a year, providing weekly Music Therapy sessions which he enjoys very much….She has lots of intuitive abilities and is very resourceful, so if one thing, (or instrument) did not work, she would try something else.  Sometimes she follows his lead, then other times she asks him to follow her.  This is big; the give and take of communication is not easy for Steven, but Ms. Morrison really has reached him through music.  She videotapes each session, takes comprehensive notes, sets measurable goals and provides timely feedback to me.  All of which I greatly appreciate and did not expect. We have worked with many therapists over the years but Ms. Morrison has to be one of the most thorough and conscientious professionals we have encountered.  I know that she has been very tolerant and patient with Steven, because he does have some challenging behaviors.  I also know that he is making strides in music and he looks forward to his weekly sessions. I wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Morrison as a Music Therapist.  She is a pleasure to work with and I do not think she would have any problem interacting with any special needs client regardless of what those needs are.

Sincerely Margie Esopi.
